Neteller and Skrill return to online casinos
In October 2021 the first legal online casinos opened their doors. It was immediately noticed that a large number of payment methods had disappeared from the offer. The payment systems Skrill and Neteller disappeared immediately from the casinos.
However, since a short time it is again possible for legal gaming providers to offer these two payment methods, provided the gambling company meets the requirements of the Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa). Several payment methods that have an 'Electronic Money Institutions' license were not included in the new cash game law, which turns out to be unjustified. This also applies to casino games in India.
Payment method and player identity
One of the strict requirements is that the payment methods offered must be linked to the identity of the player. Hence, the payment method iDeal is prominently offered at all legal gaming providers. Payments with iDeal are fast, secure and the payment system can also directly confirm the identity of the player. Other payment options include Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Trustly.
Payment options return in the casinos
However, the well-known payment options Neteller, Skrill and Paysafecard also appear to be able to confirm player identity. The payment options were available before the new gaming law was introduced and suddenly disappeared from the market. The return is good news for many players, as in previous years many were active in Neteller and Skrill casinos.
It was already recently announced that the gaming provider Unibet had reinstated the Paysafecard in its payment offer. It is possible for participants to create their own account at Paysafecard, where money can be deposited as well as received.
